Finding Jesus

amazingly

I once

believed

that

a supreme being all knowing and all powerful:

created an endless universe beyond human vision and comprehension;

unleashed the mystery of gravitational forces that bind the planets in our solar
system;

bestowed the earth with copious life-giving oceans filled with an unfathomable array
of organisms;

sculpted canyons out of mountains with gushing rivers and tributaries, witnessed by
millennia of soaring eagles and intrepid bison;

commanded the trade winds to carry flocks of osprey to new sources of habitation;

unveiled the orchestral splendor heard beneath the canopy of lush rainforests;

blessed dolphins with a swiftness and agility equal to the magnificence of their
intelligence;

awakened the pedals of a single dandelion with the warmth of a Sun large enough to
contain a million Earths—

and then
in an astounding act of perverse generosity
S A C R I F I C E D

his” only son

to be humiliated, tortured and crucified

as compensation

for a crafty, guilt-laden construct

insidiously referred to as

my sins

THANK YOU, JESUS!
